Applications are now available for the Maternal Scholarship Program
SAN ANTONIO – Jan. 19, 2022 – Community First Health Plans is excited to announce the Empowering Pathways: Maternal Scholarship Program applications are now open and available to expectant mothers to apply at https://medicaid.communityfirsthealthplans.com/empoweringpathways/.
“I am pleased that we have made available scholarships for deserving expectant mothers through the Community First Empowering Pathways program.” says Theresa Scepanski, President and CEO of Community First Health Plans. “This scholarship provides a wonderful opportunity to expand educational resources to future women leaders in our healthcare industry.”
The Empowering Pathways: Maternal Scholarship Program provides recipients funding for career training and the opportunity for a full-time career in the healthcare industry. Additionally, resources are provided to ensure each recipient’s success. Career certificate programs include:
- Acute Care Technician
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Medical Assistant
- Patient Care Technician
The scholarship program is based on the following criteria.
- A pregnant Community First Health Plans Member at time of application
- At least 18 years of age
- A resident of any City Council District within San Antonio
- High school graduate/GED recipient
- Able to access the internet
